Side effects of gout medication
As with any type of treatment, you can expect to experience some side effects when it comes to gout medications. Don't worry too much about them, but if they are troubling you too much, then you can tell your physician and he or she will be able to lower the dose of your medicines or perhaps even prescribe an entirely different medicine for your condition. Some side effects you can expect when taking Allopurinol, for example, include skin rashes and drowsiness, while taking Febuxostat may result in some joint pain. Just remember to let your physician know about any discomfort you are feeling instead of just silently suffering through them and feeling even worse than when you were suffering solely from gout. These medicines are definitely a good way for you to combat gout, but remember that you may also have other options and that you don't need to suffer through the side effects if there is a better solution.
